  1. Having read two huge books recently – The Goldfinch and The Luminaries – I don’t think I could face another one right now, even though this one sounds fun.

    My British Isles entry this week is a review of Sharon Bolton’s new book – part of her great Lacey Flint series, based in London. Each time Bolton researches one of the lesser known aspects of the city – this time the people (and creatures!) who live and work on the River Thames.
