Happy Birthday to me! #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
We got everything that a Midwest Spring has to offer in the past week — days that were too hot, days that were just beautiful, and a bit of rain with a noisy storm thrown in to make it interesting. One of the noises was the tornado sirens at 4am. Fortunately, we knew from our weather radio that the scary part of the storm was well north of us, so we didn’t rush to the basement.
What are you reading?
I’m reading just one book. That feels unusual to me, now, but there are definite advantages to being absorbed into one story. Mary Balogh is one of my favorite romance novelists, so I started her latest series with the first book, Remember Love. It began slowly for me, but I’m fully engaged now.
What are you watching?
We finished the Elsbeth series on Paramount+. It’s funny and goofy with a clear call-back to a detective that we both loved when we were teenagers, Columbo.
Next, we started Julia on Max. I had a big moment of Julia Child about ten years ago as I worked through Julia Child Rules by Karen Karbo, so I was pretty excited about this series. It’s funny and goofy in ways that are a little like Elsbeth, now that I think of it.
What are you doing?
Celebrating my birthday! Well, mostly with this blog post and by saying “thanks” to my Facebook friends who post wishes on my wall. Birthdays get pretty low-key by the time that you turn 62. I’m okay with low-key — a nice, relaxed day is perfect for a birthday.
How are you this fine Sunday?
