It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?
I didn’t manage a Monday post last week. But, I wrote a post about muffins!
Never thought that would be a post topic — it was for the From Left to Write Book Club and I listed the same post for Weekend Cooking at Beth Fish Reads.
We had our Readers’ Workouts gathering on Tuesday, Readers’ Workouts May 22 — look for a new one tomorrow!
Read
In the last two weeks I completed two books. I finished Why Calories Count by Marion Nestle and Malden Nesheim — I liked it and have a review drafted for a future Weekend Cooking. On Thursday, the Diversity Book Club discussed Color Me English by Caryl Phillips. Our opinion was that it was oddly structured, but beautifully written. We had some good discussions.
Reading
I’m currently reading A Traveller’s History of Ireland by Peter Neville and Jasmine Nights by Julia Gregson. I’m hoping to finish the first in time for my Ireland trip and the second before the June 5 publication date — but we’ll see.
I keep forgetting about the e-book I’ve been reading Insurrection in Dublin by James Stephens, written in the days after the 1916 Easter Uprising.
Will Read
Next up depends on my mood: Hot Pursuit by Suzanne Brockmann if contemporary adventure feels right, No Longer a Gentleman by Mary Jo Putney if I’m leaning toward a historical. It’s definitely time for reading something that is pure fun.
It’s Monday! What Are Your Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila of Book Journey. Be sure to check out her post today to see her selections and the list of links to all the other participating bloggers.
