Fall TBR #TopTenTuesday

This week’s Top Ten Tuesday topic at That Artsy Reader Girl is “Books on My Fall 2026 To-Read List.” I love this topic because it prompts me to make my reading and blogging plans for the next three months.

Book Club

As I wrote a few days ago, we just had our annual book selection meeting for the Community for Understanding and Hope Book Group. My top two priorities are to read the two books that we will tackle between now and the end of the year:

The Future Is Peace: A Shared Journey Across the Holy Land by Aziz Abu Sarah and Maoz Inon
We Survived the Night by Julian Brave NoiseCat

Nonfiction November

I hope to read three nonfiction books as part of my participation in Nonfiction November.

I am Not a Robot by Joanna Stern
The Mysterious Case of the Female Victorian Detective by Sara Lodge
I Am, I Am, I Am by Maggie O’Farrell

British Isles Friday

For my other five books, I want to read cozy novels set in the British Isles for several of my British Isles Friday posts in November and December.

The Right Sort of Man by Allison Montclair
The Eights by Joanna Miller
The Pantomime Murders by Fiona Vietch Smith
Life Begins at the Cornish Cottage by Kim Nash
A Carol for Mrs. Dickens by Rebecca Connolly

I loved I Am, I Am, I Am! The Eights is on my library holds list on audio. I didn’t realize it was a cozy, so I might bump it up to November after RIP reading.

  I don’t think The Eights is classified as part of the cozy mystery genre. Anything set in Oxford feels cozy to me so it felt like it fit the fall vibe.

I like this quarterly exercise as well, and for the same reason. I have The Mysterious Case of the Female Victorian Detective in my TBR list. I’ll be interested in your thoughts. I Am Not A Robot is an intriguing title. Looks like a great list!

Great balanced list for end of year reading. I loved The Right Sort of Man and fully intended to read book 2 in the series, but then have been hopelessly sidetracked.

I’m not sure I have what it takes to read A Carol for Mrs. Dickens–the story of the real Mrs. Dickens and her half-life as wife to a famous writer and egotist is too heartbreaking. I love Dickens novels, but as a husband and father, he fell short.
