Wedding Anniversary #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
I had a cold and it’s been cold, so I wasn’t paying a lot of attention to the weather. Today, though, I’m feeling better and it’s sunny and over 50 degrees, so I completed my long walk. I’m glad that the days off still left me fit enough to do that.
What are you reading?
I’m still reading A Lot Like Christmas by Connie Willis, a collection of humorous short stories with science fiction elements. There are stories about lots of things that I have loved about Christmases past and present — choirs, chatty newsletters, and movies.
What are you watching?
I just started watching That Christmas on Netflix. It’s an animated movie set in Wellington-on-Sea in Great Britain. The two voices that I recognize are Bill Nighy and Jodie Whittaker. But, as for most children’s movies, the child actors voicing the children in the story are the real stars. I’ve been surprised by how delightfully layered the story is. The script is tons better than some of the Christmas rom coms that I watched last week.
What are you doing?
Today, we’re celebrating our 33rd wedding anniversary. I looked it up and someone has decided that is the amethyst year. I guess I’ll put my amethyst bracelet on for the rest of the day to bring us luck. We’re celebrating with a favorite home-cooked meal, especially in the winter — sous vide turkey thighs, stuffing with apples, and brussels sprouts with a lime-dijon-maple syrup sauce.
What are you up to this fine Sunday?
