Sunday Salon — January 19
Good morning! And, Happy New Year!
Time: // 8:51 am. I slept late this morning. I’m not sure why but I’m hoping it’s not because I’m coming down with something.
The scene: // Remarkably sunny. We’re expecting a high around 50 today. We may walk twice to make up for a couple of short walks last week when it was too cold and windy and rainy to stay out long.
Listening to: // My Good Morning playlist on Spotify. Yo Yo Ma and James Taylor make me feel better on days with slow starts. That, and tea.
Reading: // The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, the Read Along book for The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge.
Here are our first two weeks of discussion, covering the first half of the book:
Join us on Wednesday for our thoughts on Chapters 7, 8, and 9 about Money, Eternity, and Passion. Gretchen Rubin’s passion is books, so I think we’ll have a lot to say about that.
Blogging about: // baking bread from freshly-ground flour and how much better it tastes than bread made from flour bought in bags.
Participating in // The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge. I finally completed the first of four books I intend to read this month to support my goals, projects, and resolutions. Watch this afternoon for my review of Reading Like a Writer by Francine Prose.
Looking forward to: // The final Twitter chat for The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge – Wednesday night 9PM Eastern / 8 Central / 7 Mountain / 6 Pacific / 5 Alaskan / 4 Hawaiian. The hashtag is #WSchat. Our other Twitter chats were fun and gave everyone great ideas for new books to read. Don’t miss our last chat on Wednesday!
What are you up to this fine Sunday?
