A Death Rant and Secrets #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
We continue to have unseasonable warmth, but that all changes on Sunday. According to the Weather Channel, we’re expecting a high of 70 degrees around noon. Then, the temperature will start dropping. We’ll be at 15 degrees at 7am on Monday morning. That’s a drop of 55 degrees in 17 hours! The local news thinks it won’t go quite that low, but still a dizzying drop!
What are you reading?
I’m supposed to be reading the next book club selection, The Night Watchman by Louise Erdrich.
But…
I lucked into a skip-the-line Libby copy of Dan Brown’s latest Robert Langdon novel, The Secret of Secrets. I’m barreling through that book first. I really enjoy the settings of the Langdon novels. This one is in Prague.
What are you watching or listening to?
We were excited to see Goodbye June on Christmas Eve, the day that it arrived on Netflix. Unfortunately, we didn’t like it that much. But, I did manage to turn it into a rant about the unrealistic ways that death is portrayed in stories and to make a plea that we work to normalize what is normal.
I’m currently enjoying the Christmas special for Call the Midwife. PBS has it streaming for free for the next month.
What are you doing?
Today, we’ll get to meet the baby great-nephew and give gifts to his older siblings. It will make a nice second Christmas for us!
