Artemis #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
Everything is turning green and we had some warm weather, but a front blew through last night and we have a cool, gloomy day today. It’s April. We can expect more of everything — cool, rain, and a return to sun and warmth. We might repeat that cycle a few more times before settling into a warmer late spring.
What are you reading?
It took a couple of tries to find a new book to read after I devoured The Astral Library by Kate Quinn and The Parable of the Sower by Octavia E. Butler.
I settled on The Picture House Murders by Fiona Veitch Smith. Mysteries don’t always hit the spot for me, but I’m enjoying the main character, her situation, and the setting of Newcastle upon Tyne.
What are you watching or listening to?
I reviewed Riot Women for British Isles Friday. This felt like a healing show for those of us considering aging and relevancy.
I love that I can check in at NASA.gov to get a look at what the Artemis astronauts and ground crew are up to. Sometimes, there is no commentary, but there is always a ticker on the side panel to show what has happened recently. My favorite ticker update was this one: Crew and Ground Teams Successfully Troubleshoot Orion’s Toilet. Good for them!
This way of keeping track of a mission is a far cry from my childhood memory of waiting for Walter Cronkite to let us know what was happening.
What are you doing?
I play a constant guessing game about my changing symptoms. Is it the new ‘cicada’ variant of COVID? Is it a cold? Is it allergies? So, far, I’ve landed on the last one as most likely because we’re also seeing an ever changing list of pollens.
Our Easter will be low key, featuring deviled eggs, fancy jelly beans, and a small dark chocolate bunny. Are you planning to celebrate?
