How Children Succeed by Paul Tough — A Back to School Read Along — 4 Comments

  1. The first topic sounds like my ADHD son. he cannot do any of those tasks listed. but all these quotes give me hope…Albert Einstein did not speak until he was four and did not read until he was seven. Walt Disney was fired by a newspaper editor because, “he lacked imagination and had no good ideas.” Isaac Newton never did well in school. Thomas Edison’s teachers told him that he was “too stupid to learn anything.”…
Then the second topic makes me worry. Our son will do anything for instant gratification. We are working very hard to deter that characteristic in him.
Sounds like an interesting read! Looking forward to reading more from you on the read along.
