Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I’ve been sitting too much, too many days. I started to feel it in my lower back. When I was younger, I ignored that sort of thing. But, I got smarter! Now, stiffness in my lower back is a good signal to try some yoga.
With three yoga sessions of 30 minutes or more, I’ve managed to ward off any real problems with my back. And, I’m well ahead of the game on my goal to exercise 1200 minutes this month.
Also, I’m getting better about moving more during the day.
How does sitting impact your body? What do you do to counteract the negative effects?
Other than being a little stiff when I get up after sitting too long, it’s never really bothered me.
I sit a lot at work but the fitbit reminders to move help. my upper back is bothering me today though. I’m not sure what I did. I’m thinking maybe a heating pad this evening.
