New Month #ReadersWorkouts

Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share workout stories, goals, successes, and challenges.
I met my January goals on the very last day — completing 1225 minutes to beat my time goal of 1200 minutes and 8 strength-training sessions to meet that goal. In February, a short month, I’m repeating both of those goals. I also wanted to start making more use of my FitBit, so I set a goal to walk at least 8000 steps on at least 21 days of February. So far, I’m two for two on that one.
How is your exercise as we make the transition into the second month of the year?

I’ve temporarily switched my Monday routine to an hour-long karate lesson then an hour of sparring to get me ready for a belt test. Last night my instructor worked me hard in lesson then gave me some back-to-back fights.
After the test I’m going to go to a few workouts with a young, muscle-bound guy in work and learn about weight-lifting. I have about 20 pounds I’d like to say goodbye to this year.
Sounds like a you’re doing great preparing for the test.
I keep thinking I should take my brother or husband to the gym with me to help me with weight-lifting. I haven’t done it yet though.
8,000 steps is usually my goal to, even if I only make it about half the time.
I have been slacking on my workouts and I really do need to get back to the gym more and walking on that treadmill, specially with the weather.
