Sunday Salon — January 26 (The Bloggiesta Edition)
Time: // 8:30 am.
The scene: // Sunny and warm. I took two walks yesterday and intend to do the same today. We expect a high of 52 today and 12 tomorrow. We’re having a colder than normal winter and a warmer than normal winter on alternating days.
Listening to: // Martin Shervington’s British accent. If you’re going to watch hours of videos on Google Plus, it might as well be narrated by someone with an interesting accent. For Bloggiesta, I’m learning about Google Plus by making my way through this large collection of videos: What is Google Plus? A Complete User Guide. I’m re-listening to one – maybe some of this will sink in by osmosis.

The Happiness Project is the Read Along book for The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge of 2014
Reading: // I finished The Happiness Project by Gretchen Rubin, the Read Along book for The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge.
Here are our first three weeks of discussion, covering three-quarters of the book:
Join us on Wednesday for the group’s thoughts on the final chapters and the whole book.
Blogging about: // Bloggiesta! It’s a mini-Bloggiesta weekend. I’m doing fairly well on my list, but this excursion in the cave of Google Plus is taking longer than I hoped.
Participating in // The New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge. I reviewed my first book last week – Reading Like a Writer by Francine Prose helped me Be a Better Reader. The Happiness Project counts for this challenge for my resolution to Be Happier. I still have two more books to read – fortunately, they are both short and I’m more than half-way through The Memoir Project by Marion Roach Smith.
What are you up to this fine Sunday?
Oh dear. I completely forgot about Bloggiesta!
Editing a manuscript that was supposedly close to publication ready. I’ve marked up the introduction and chapter 1 with 270 corrections.
I think my definition of “close to publication ready” differs from this writer’s definition.
Our weather is fluctuating just like yours!
I have mixed feelings about Google +….and although I have a profile and connect to people, I guess I need to learn more about why I should care! lol
Enjoy your week…and your Bloggiesta success. Here’s MY WEEKLY SUNDAY/MONDAY UPDATES
I was looking forward to Bloggiesta but now I’m actually too lazy to sign up and do bloggish things. 🙂 Oh well. I have a busy week ahead, so I’m spending today cleaning up, running errands, and doing lesson planning.
You’re not the first blogger I’ve read today who has talked about the weather being warm and then cold. I’m in northcentral Pennsylvania and I’d like that alternating to happen here. Unfortunately, we’re in the midst of a cold spell. Fortunately, we have blankets to keep us warm, blankets under which we’ll be curled tonight, watching TV, I’m guessing.
I am quite clueless as to the benefits of Google+… perhaps I should schedule my own bloggiesta to learn more about it.
I took advantage of the warm weather yesterday and took a nice long walk as well. Not sure I will even attempt to venture outside today in the sub-zero weather. Stay warm!!
