How’s the weather?

We’ve been having weather that is nice for August. Unfortunately, it’s warming up to a temperature that feels unreasonably hot for September — six days in a row with a high expected in the upper 90s. It was nice to feel, for a few days, that fall is on its way. I will have to trust that it will get here, eventually.

What are you reading?

I just finished The Murder of Roger Ackroyd for my September Christie-a-thon, that I previewed on Friday. That’s the last of the reading that I have planned for those posts.

I started reading my childhood copy of Winnie-the-Pooh ahead of the 100th anniversary of publication on October 14.

It’s unusual that I don’t have an e-book downloaded on my phone. I imagine that I’ll figure out something in the next day or two.

I enjoyed my memories of traveling with books for Top Ten Tuesday.

What are you watching?

We enjoyed My Brilliant Career on Netflix featuring an Australian woman in 1901 who wants to be a writer. The series is funny and has a lot to say about love, life, and the equality of women.

I’ve started watching Towards Zero, a mini-series based on the Agatha Christie book, on Britbox — that is also on my plan for September posts.

What are you watching?

I’m consuming all the Dolly Parton content. Her death hit me harder than it might have. Earlier this summer, I spent several weeks listening to the podcast  Dolly Parton’s America while exploring her life and career in other ways, including listening to the Live From London album.

I highly recommend that podcast if you’re also looking for ways to honor her life at this time.
