  3. You captured the whole of your post with the word “systemic”. It’s so very very true. It’s like fresh air when you run across a post or books that keep the spotlight shining on the issues here in the States. I’ve read two of the books, but McGhee’s “The Sum of Us” sounds like an interesting addition and in line with some of the writing Matthew Desmond has done. Thank you for sharing it here!

  4. I read my first Barbara Kingsolver novel this year (Prodigal Summer), and I loved it, but I am still shying away from Demon Copperhead. Thanks for sharing the other two books and a short blurb about the information contained within, which is definitely eye opening.
