Sunday Salon, September 15
Time: // 8:15 am
The scene: // We finally cooled to September temperatures. Our high temperature on Friday was more than 20 degrees cooler than Wednesday. It feels wonderful!
Listening to: // My Good Morning playlist on Spotify — “Good Morning” from Singin’ in the Rain . (My playlist resource: Book Review: Your Playlist Can Change Your Life.)
Currently reading: // Clean by David Sheff. Interesting connections to How Children Succeed by Paul Tough (How Children Succeed by Paul Tough — A Back to School Read Along, September 11), Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss (Book Review: Salt Sugar Fat by Michael Moss (Part 3)), and The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander (Book Review: The New Jim Crow by Michelle Alexander). I love it when my books relate to each other.
Blogging about: // Bloggiesta! It starts on Friday.
Participating in: // The Back to School Reading Challenge (Join us! We’re reading to learn new things through September).
Experimenting with: // Google+. I finished Guy Kawasaki’s book What the Plus! and that’s helped, but Google+ has changed some since the book was written so I’m still working things out. If you’re on Google+, please help me out: Joy Weese Moll.
Looking forward to: // Visiting my mother-in-law at her home today. She was released from rehab yesterday.
What are you up to this fine Sunday?
It sounds like our weather patterns are the same, and I am certainly enjoying these cooler temperatures (although I think rain is in our forecast every day this week…)
I participated in Bloggiesta when it first started and enjoyed the focused attention on getting my blog in order. Thank you for making aware of the upcoming event… I just may participate again.
I know absolutely nothing about Google+ but I have an account. I would love to hear what you learn!
It is only slightly cooler here…but a little bit helps. Thanks for visiting my blog, and enjoy your week.
Google + is still a mystery to me…I belong, but don’t go there often.
Interesting reading. Makes me wonder how the two books connect for you. I love it when patterns emerge sometimes unexpectedly.
We had a few cooler days but it’s still pretty unbearable here.
Thanks for the info on Bloggiessta! I hadn’t heard anything about it yet.
Going now to check out your reviews!
I forgot… I like Google+ but wish you didn’t have to manually add each blog post to your account.
BTW: I just added you to my following list.
Hard to believe it was in the high 90’s and then just a few days later we struggled to reach 60. Brrrr! lol
Hope you had a wonderful day!
I’m SO enjoying the cooler temps, hooray! I can’t even explain how much I love this time of year 😀
Thanks for the reminder about Bloggiesta…I have to go check out the link!
sorry to be late getting around. I took Sunday off of the computer after my posts were done and ready. Google+….hmmm, I don’t care much for google and I am trying to keep an open mind about it. I left blogger several years ago because you “had to have a google account” to have a blogger site. Well, I got tired of WP…oh anyway, I am back on blogger and trying to use google without putting all my personal info on the net…(we have some adopted children that we are trying to keep “hidden” from their biological parents). Hope you had a nice visit with your mother-in-law!
I love how the weather is changing. What’s really telling me that fall is coming is how it gets darker earlier. I may check out Bloggiesta but I don’t blog much nowadays so . . . 🙂 Have a good week.
I usually do techy stuff during Bloggiesta, but I think I may spend this one writing posts.
