I mostly wanted to post today to see if anyone else is working out on Christmas Day. I’m on track for my 15 workouts of Jillian Michaels’ 30 Day Shred, but if I’m going to keep up my streak of doing it on odd-numbered days, that means working out today. I got fresh motivation at the #fitblog chat last week when someone pointed out that working out the morning of a feast day can be a great way to put myself in the mindset of being festive and healthy at the same time.

I also wanted to invite the Readers’ Workouts participants to join the New Year’s Resolution Reading Challenge, perfect for anyone with exercise goals for 2013.

How are you mixing up holidays and exercise?

  1. I think exercise as a resolution is a fantastic idea. My family went for a walk before Christmas lunch and it was really pleasant. I’m going to start trying to add it to the regular routine. Merry Christmas Joy!

    My husband and I planned to run together today, but we had the full attention of both of our teen girls today so we opted to watch movies together instead. It was very sweet.

    I had a rough time last week as a stomach virus swept through my house. The girls and I were pretty sick. We’re doing much better now, thank goodness. Ready to end the year strong!

  3. I am totally impressed if you worked out Christmas Day! If we had nicer weather during the holidays, I would maybe consider it…but running in the snow is not appetizing for me (and the gym was closed). 🙂 Back on the horse now though!
