Readers’ Workouts April 10
Welcome to the second Readers’ Workouts event! We had a good starting week last Tuesday: Readers’ Workouts April 3. Join us this week by writing a post about your previous workout adventures and sharing goals for the coming week. Link the post in the Mr. Linky form below so that we can visit each other to cheer our progress. If you want to participate without using a blog, make your report in the comments.
My first goal for the month of April is to exercise for 1400 minutes. I’m at 340 minutes, which is not quite on track but close enough to believe I’ll make it up.
My second goal is to do a full-body video workout on the odd days. I managed to do that. One day, I used Jillian Michael’s 30-Day Shred because it’s only 20 minutes — Level 1 was easier than I remembered so I must be doing something right. Another day, I was feeling kind of tight all over, so I used the Nia Global Unity DVD, a very fluid workout combining dance, yoga, qi gong, and martial arts. My body appreciated that. The Nia video takes 55 minutes and I have to park my cynicism in the corner of the room for the duration–but I suppose that’s a good exercise, too. My other two workouts were the Start It Up routine of Slim in 6.
How was your week of exercise?
Edited to add: This week’s entries are closed — check back every Tuesday for a new Mister Linky.

340 min is not bad at all. Much more than what I will be doing! During Easter I got a bad cold and feel like a zombie but hope to be able to start my swimming on the weekend.

I really like this idea. I hope it catches on and more bloggers join in! 🙂
The idea got some buzz on Twitter over lunch–that should help! People like the idea, but I think it’s going to take a few weeks to develop the habit.
I just linked up with my progress from last week and my goals this week! 🙂

It sounds like you’re doing great! I walk every day for exercise, but it only takes 25 to 30 minutes a day. It’s a great time to listen to an audio book.
Walking every day is great exercise! Especially fun if you can listen to a book at the same time.
Oh, glad you cleared that up. I was thinking I might see you soon wuth black eyes from tripping on the sidewalk while reading with your nose in a book.
