NaNoWriMo
November is National Novel Writing Month (NaNoWriMo) — write a 50,000 word novel in 30 days! I learn, and re-learn, a lot about time management when I take on this challenge. Laura Vanderkam, author of the terrific book about time 168 Hours: You Have More Time Than You Think, allowed me to write a guest post on her blog about NaNoWriMo: 5 Ways NaNoWriMo Improves Time Management.
As I stated in the guest post, this will be my fourth time participating in NaNoWriMo. It will be the first time that I’ve done NaNoWriMo since I started my book blog. So, now I’m curious. What other book bloggers are participating in NaNoWriMo?
I discovered that Amy at Amy’s Book Den is when I was reading some of the It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?posts at Book Journey yesterday. And Sami at Booking It with Runner Sami is setting up NaNoWriMo writing events at her library. Who else? I’ll make a list of names, blog links, and twitter handles.
Edited to add: I’m drafting a list here. I’ll put a separate post up with the list of book blogging NaNoWriMo participants in a few days. Judith of Leeswammes’ Blog is correct that, ultimately, we’ll want NaNoWriMo usernames in this list so that we can be buddies on the NaNoWriMo site. If anyone wants to keep their NaNoWriMo identity secret or separate from your book blogger identity, we can find a less public way to exchange that information. Let me know if you see any errors or want any changes.
Edited to add (31-Oct-2011): The list of book bloggers participating in NaNoWriMo 2011 is now residing at its official home: Book Bloggers Haunt NaNoWriMo.
Yes, me too. I’m Leeswammes on NaNoWriMo. Pity we can’t use the buddy function yet. Hopefully very soon!
That is a great guest post on time management and just what I need. I am doing NaNoWriMo for the first time this year and am very nervous about procrastination. Thanks for the help and good luck to you.
Yay! Glad to see you are participating, Judith and Alex. I remember being quite nervous the first time, Alex, but then I got excited by the pure fun of the event and it melted away.
Yep, I’m participating. First timer. And exciting. We will see where I will get. I’m looking forward to the event anyway. And I think I’ll learn a lot from it 🙂
Good luck with NaNoWriMo this year!
Found another blogger who is also doing NaNoWriMo!

Oh and my NaNo name is Sylirama 😉
I’ll be adding some buddies as soon as NaNo allows it. ;D
Hi Joy,
Thanks for adding me to the list. I’m always up for finding new NaNoWriMo buddies. I know quite a few who are also participating this year. Will email you a few links as I don’t know how they feel about being on a list! This is my first year participating and I feel very unprepared but also kinda excited.
I’m copying this from my post, in case you missed it: My twitter is onlyminordetail and my NaNo is onlyminordetails . It’s kind of ironic, since those are the only two places I use that username. Lol. Thanks for the add on this list! <3
Hi Joy! This is such a good idea and I would love to participate in it. It’ll be nice to be with other bloggers striving for that 50,000-word goal!
