Book Review: The Beck Diet Solution by Judith S. Beck — 9 Comments

  1. Since I have physiology / medicine background I’ve always known the key to weight loss is not so much what you eat but a matter of taking in less than you burn off. Easier said than done in today’s sedentary world and abundance of fatty foods. I’ll have to look into this one. I have been very taken with the Mayo Clinic “eating plan” — which is basically a method of helping you recognize correct portion sizes and ratios of daily intake. No absolutely banned foods.

I’m very curious about a book that helped you so much.

  2. It is not often that I read a real review of a diet book that actually works. I tend to chafe instantly at such books that have alot of rules, but your comments about how the structure was just what you needed has me intrigued about this one.

  3. Maybe I should look into these books. Never had a weight problem until lately and nothing has worked so far. These sound interesting and doable.

  4. This sounds pretty “common sense” to me. Although, when it comes to food, many people aren’t as in touch with the psychological aspect, so I see how these could be beneficial. Wonderful review, thank you 😀

  5. I used this book when I took off 25 pounds, and this is the first time I’ve been able to maintain my weightloss. I literally never have lost weight and then not immediately started to regain. I’ve now kept this weight off for 3 1/2 months, not one time going above my goal weight. This is HUGE for me.
