#blogjune Day 30 and Giveaway Results
I did it! I posted on my blog every day in June. My intent from the beginning of my blog in January was to post every day. But this is the first month I’ve achieved that goal.
Frequent posts were helped by a busy month that began with the 48 Hour Book Challenge, so I had lots of catching up to do with my reviewing. It didn’t hurt that other special events like the Literary Giveaway Blog Hop and the beginning of the 23 Things for Professional Development (cpd23) program arrived in June.
Even without those special events, though, I think I would have managed to have enough material to post. This tells me my infrastructure is working for me — there’s enough of a mix of reviews, memes, and challenges to keep things humming along. The issue, like for most things in my life, is how much time do I want to devote to blogging. I think that I will keep blogging most days, but it works well for me to give myself permission to take a day off from it now and then, too.
Speaking of the Literary Giveaway Blog Hop and Little Women memories, I loved all the stories and memories that were shared in the comments. Thank you so much. If you haven’t seen the comments, click through to read them for yourself. One interesting aspect was the different experiences that women had when they were young outside of the United States, settling with abridged versions, or reading the two halves of the book in separate volumes (as they were originally published in the US), or encountering the story through one or more of the movie versions before or instead of the book.
Without further ado, the winner of The Little Women Letters by Gabrielle Donnelly is Parrish of The Parrish Lantern, a book blogger with a special love for poetry. Congratulations! I’ll send you an email to get the book headed in your direction.
Congrats on blogging every day this month! It’s such a challenge, at least it was for me. There are some days blogging just doesn’t seem like a priority, and it doesn’t have to be all the time. Doing it a lot helped me be creative 🙂
I always have content I can publish every day, but unless I pre-schedule my posts, I always try to take a day off blogging (it varies each week), which makes me a very bad blogger. Someone should smack my typing fingers.
Speaking of content, I just received an email today that basically said, “hey! here’s some content you can post on your blog for free! Be sure to include these links … blah, blah …” Really? Um .. yeah .. I already HAVE content I can post for free; you’re really not doing me any favors by sending me your material to post, which basically amounts to free exposure for you and working for free for me. 🙂 (I almost wanted to write that back to them, but instead, I did the right thing and simply deleted it!)
Congrats to you for meeting your goal and congrats to the winner!
