How’s the weather?

We survived our heat wave, but it hasn’t exactly been a massive cool-down here. We expect another week with several days in the 90s. Maybe we’ll get to highs in the 80s the following week.

In the meantime, I’m watching YouTube videos about decorating for autumn to get a little of that cozy vibe in my house even if I’m not feeling it outside. I picked up a perfect little acorn from the driveway this week.

What are you reading?

To add to my fall fantasies, I’m reading A Witch in Notting Hill by Alexandra Paige. Book’d Out recommended this title and I’m finding it delightful as well as enjoying the autumn-hued cover.

What are you watching?

We’re enjoying Formula 1 this week at a brand new track in Madrid, Spain. Don’t send me any spoilers, though, because we won’t watch the Grand Prix until tonight!

What are you doing?

The Community for Understanding and Hope Book Group, which specializes in books about race in America, will have its annual book selection meeting on Thursday. That’s such a fun meeting when we all bring our book suggestions to discuss and, then, go through a multi-ballot process to choose the ten books that we’ll read next year. If it all goes smoothly, next week’s Sunday Salon post will probably contain the list of books that we considered and the ones that we chose.

The CFUH Book Group celebrated its 18th birthday in June. We have read 170 books together.
