  1. We have over a foot of snow, and it’s not going to be melting any time soon! I think the high next week might be 30. I need to put out my Black History Month displays when I finally get back to school on Monday after having been out for a week because of snow. Didn’t even get to talk about the ALA Youth Media Awards. Have a great week!

  2. We enjoyed Shetland, but haven’t watched more than one season with the new DI. I was so sorry to see the character of Jimmy Perez leave, but at least Tosh is still around! We’ll have to get back to that show. We’re currently re-watching The Night Agent in preparation to start the second season.

Congrats on your journaling project. Isn’t it great to see progress in a goal at the beginning of the year? I started a strength training program on Jan 1st and have worked out 25 out of 31 days this month. On my “rest” days, I still try to get outside and walk. On to February!

  3. I haven’t watched much of the Shteland series and need to catch up. Love that you have the journalling goal. I write in my planner everyday abouot the minutiae of my day, books I am reading etc. It’s a great reference for later on as well, in case you needed to remember what went on.

  4. Our snow is here to stay (Ohio), some roads are clear, but in the neighborhoods the streets are also snow packed. Our high this week is on Friday and it is 27, but it is supposed to snow (Monday as well). So, maybe by March it will be gone, LOL! I need to get back into journaling, it is a great creative outlet. I hope you reach your 100 day goal. Have a great week!

  5. I’m a fan of Tosh. I don’t have any streaming subscriptions, so I rely on TV – I’m such a dinosaur – and we’re only at season 8 there, but I really liked that.

  6. So glad you faired well in the snow despite the cold! We visited family in the STL area just time for the storm and it was brutally cold. We got nine inches of snow at my Brother in Laws house and basically stayed inside for days on end because it was just too darn cold to do anything even when the roads cleared up.

I love the idea of the 100 day journaling challenge you’re doing. It sounds like it successful so far! I hope it continues to spark your introspection and creativity.

  7. Black AF History: The Un-Whitewashed Story of America sounds like a book I should read. I will add it to my list.

I’m trying to work on the 100 day journaling challenge, but we are out of town this weekend, so I have missed a few days. I will try to catch up.

And I need to look for Shetland.

  8. Congratulations on your journaling streak! Our side street warms up in the cold sun during the day turning all the leftover snow into slush, which then freezes at night into hard icy ruts. Yuck. Winter is best enjoyed from inside a warm house!

  9. Sitting down each morning to answer journal prompt sounds nice.. relaxing.
Mine is chaotic trying to kids out the door and to school. Maybe one day.
