Scaramouche, Scaramouche, will you do the fandango? #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
Gray and cool.
I got a new raincoat yesterday. I discovered on No Kings Day that my raincoat no longer functioned as intended. My shirt was wet in several spots when I got home. That one is now in the trash because no one needs a raincoat that doesn’t keep out rain. Now that I have the new one, of course, there is almost no rain in the long term forecast.
What are you reading?
This is Nonfiction November, so I’m reading mostly nonfiction! Here’s my introductory post from Monday.
On my phone, I’m reading the next book for book club: Original Sins: The (Mis)education of Black and Native Children and the Construction of American Racism by Eve L. Ewing. It’s asking foundational questions about who we are and how we were educated.
In print, I’m reading Jane Austen at Home by Lucy Worsley. Since Jane Austen was mostly at home, it’s really a biography.
The one novel I have going now is Heartwood by Amity Gaige which I’m listening to during my exercise sessions.
What are you watching or listening to?
I wrote about the history and my memories of “Bohemian Rhapsody” on Halloween, the 50th anniversary of Queen’s release of the song.
We finished the Downton Abbey series and the latest season of Only Murders in the Building. Next up, we’re watching the latest season of Unforgotten on PBS.
What are you doing?
We ignored Halloween, mostly. Our house is hidden behind dark and creepy trees and shadows so trick-or-treaters don’t venture to our door.
I’m watching other St. Louis writers start 30 days of novel-writing. I’m not doing that. After my novel crashed and burned earlier this year, I need a break.
How are you this weekend? Recovered from any Halloween activities?
