I had two “life as strength-training” workouts over the weekend — my favorite kind. The first was cleaning the heavy drapes in the bedroom (required because we live a block from the railroad tracks and need them to dampen the sound) — lots of overhead lifts to reach the high parts and squats to reach the part near the floor. The second was picking up sticks in the yard before Rick mowed — dozens of squats and lunges.
With that, plus a long walk while talking on the phone to a friend, I’m in good shape at the end of the first week in September to meet my goals for the month:
- 300 of 1300 minutes
- 4 of 21 days with 8000 steps or more
- 3 of 8 strength-training sessions
