The Happiness Project Read Along — Wednesday Discussion, January 15 — 5 Comments

  1. That Notecard System makes me cringe! I have a giant box full of index cards with notes on books that I actually planned to INDEX someday. Have held on to it for a few years now, but it may be time to declutter by accepting that I will never do the project and getting rid of the box. I just can’t bring myself to give up hope that I might do it sometime.
I still haven’t read Quiet, and need to get to it. I guess I need a read-along for that one.
Keep on enjoying your “weird” enjoyment of organizational schemes and remember to “be Joy”! 😉

  2. Joy, you do such a wonderful job of responding to this book! I went off on a riff this time–based on the “terrible, horrible, no-good, very bad day” I had yesterday. (It wasn’t that bad, certainly, in the great scheme of things, but it seemed so at the time!) So writing the blog post late last night was good therapy. I’m enjoying this challenge, although I don’t know whether I’ll have time to read Still Writing by Dani Shapiro, my second book. I’m traveling this weekend; maybe I’ll take it with me. Thanks again for introducing me to The Happiness Project.

  3. I’m so glad I didn’t read your post before I wrote mine, because I would have been short my quote! I like that we independently picked the same quote. 🙂

I agree that a lot of the friendship chapter seems geared towards extroverts, it also discounts the entire idea of social anxiety. I know I say in my post that I need to get out there and network… but oh, no…
