Oxford & Bath #SundaySalon
Happy Sunday! Sunday Salon is hosted by Deb at ReaderBuzz. Check out her post and the links to see what other bloggers have been up to in the last week.
How’s the weather?
As I write this on late Saturday afternoon, we’ve been hearing thunder in the distance for about an hour. Looking at the radar, it appears that these are just popping up all around us. So far, none of them have popped right on top of us. The weather radio went off a bit ago, so these can produce severe weather conditions — 60mph winds plus hail.
What are you reading?
I’m continuing to read The Adventures of Huckleberry Finn by Mark Twain and the print version of James by Percival Everett in preparation for next week’s book club meeting to discuss James.
What are you watching or listening to?
I watched and reviewed My Oxford Year, a new movie on Netflix. It was based on a book of the same name that I enjoyed last year. Either the book or the movie (or both) provide good back-to-school vibes.
Thanks to everyone who provided suggestions last week for things to watch when I finished Death in Paradise and All Creatures Great and Small — both of which I thoroughly enjoyed. I went with a suggestion from Jeanie. I’m enjoying McDonald and Dobbs on BritBox.
McDonald and Dobbs is set in Bath, one of my favorite places in England. I went back to look at some of my photo-heavy travel posts:
What are you doing?
I’m calling my Missouri governor every day to discourage him from calling a special session of our legislature in order to push through a gerrymandering, mid-decade redistricting. I also plan to attend a meeting on Friday to learn about other organizing efforts related to this issue.
How are you this fine Sunday?
