A Birthday for a Queen #BriFri — 3 Comments

  1. I like the gears a lot! I would love to see that exhibit, and I’m somewhat tickled to know that Albert’s 200th birthday is this year, as is our own town founder’s.

My books this week could not be more British — the memoirs of E. H. Shepard, illustrator of Winnie the Pooh and Wind in the Willows. The first volume is utterly charming and all about the joys of being an 8yo boy in Victorian London, with a jubilee and everything. The second is about his growing up, time in art school, and marriage. Lovely.
