Bloggiesta, Day 2
Today was all about pages. In WordPress parlance, pages are the links that are across the top of my blog. After today’s updates, they are Home, British & Irish, NaNo 2018, Publications, Travel, About, and Contact.
I would love some feedback, especially if you’re new to my blog:
- Do those links give you a good idea of who I am and what I write about?
- Are there too many? If so, which ones would you cut or combine?
- Are they in a good order or should I move them around?
- Would you expect to see some information that I didn’t manage to provide?
Thanks!
I don’t think there are too many at all! The only one I was uncertain about when I clicked it was Britsh & Irish – the only suggestion I would have is maybe have a separate page for British Isles Friday with a list of previous posts. But that’s not necessary, since the link does take you to the category. Hope that’s helpful! Nice work 🙂
Oh and your share buttons aren’t working for me… I don’t know if it’s just me or if something is broken… :/
Thanks. I tried a different plug-in and they seem to be working now.
I don’t think there are too many. I do prefer the about and contact to be located on the far left. It seems more traditional there, something that this reader’s eye naturally goes to, and then as I scan to the right it kind of builds excitement to see what you’re up to/in to. Also, I like to learn a bit more about the writer behind the blog on the about page. That’s my two cents. Happy Bloggiesta!
Thanks! I took your advice and re-ordered the pages so that About and Contact are the farthest to the left.
I think your website looks great! I love that you have already started planning NaNo this year too. Happy Bloggiesta!
