Four Films #BriFri — 5 Comments

  1. I would like to watch The Gathering Storm. Albert Finney and Vanessa Redgrave are fantastic plus, like you, I think the time frame and how people interacted would be fascinating. Keep calm!

  2. I’ve never seen The Gathering Storm, your post reminded me I’d like to correct that. Longtime fan of Albert Finney and of course since the film is based on a book, it’s right up my alley for my book-to-movie blog, Chapter1-take1.com.
Today at SimCarter.com I’m at Covent Garden:)

  3. Ooo! Olivia de Havilland was also in Robin Hood, which is especially popular here in my hometown, because the local park was Sherwood Forest. When you see the Merry Men waving from a giant oak tree, that’s our famous local landmark, now gone but still beloved.

This week I only managed two UK trip posts; I still have 3 to go. But I’m writing a talk for Sunday and can’t work on that right now.
Day X: Avebury and surrounding Neolithic monuments, Lacock http://howlingfrog.blogspot.com/2016/07/uk-trip-x.html

    Day X: Bath! http://howlingfrog.blogspot.com/2016/07/uk-trip-xi.html

  4. I really love Errol Flynn. I spent one summer watching all of his movies that I could find at the library. (I ended up buying some as well).

If you like old movies, I’d also recommend Scarlet Pimpernel starring Leslie Howard.
