  2. I too love the cars. My husband and I used to go to car shows a lot. I miss that.

    I grew up with a boy whose father was in politics in Cuba. They fled to the U.S. and I met him in 63 when they bought a house near us.

  3. The cars are a frozen look at a time when the US imported them to Cuba citizens. I love your pictures and I wish I was enjoying a mojito and warm breeze on this cold rainy day here!

  4. I’m a bit of a mojito fan too- it looks fabulous. Those cars are such a cuban cliche- great that they really are still there. I can’t imagine how much petrol they use.

    • Actually, they’ve mostly been converted to diesel. They had a huge energy crisis after the Soviet Union fell in the early 1990s. It eventually got resolved with imports of diesel from Venezuela.
