  1. I know when reading a book where the setting is almost a character and then to visit the locations is very special.To read as you are there like you did, very cool! My niece was married in Oxford and then I became a fan of the PBS mystery series, Morse, Endevour, and the latest with Inspector Lewis!

  2. Nice choices! The Doomsday book is one of my top favorite historical fiction novels, along with Connie Willis’s two part novel Blackout/All Clear.
    I also loved Edward Rutherford’s book, in fact, all his books. His writing amazes me the same way James Michener’s did.
