    If you’re on the church grounds when they ring it is deafeningly loud. The village is in what’s called “Constable Country”, where John Constable painted a number of his famous works including the Haywain. I used to live a few miles away.

    • Tintinnabulation and the bells, bells, bells, bells came to my mind as well. Maybe it’s an American thing. Hard to forget that poem, once you’ve learned it. And the word bells brings it back every time.
