Wondrous Words Wednesday — Graduation Edition — 5 Comments

  1. Congratulations to your nephew. My granddaughter graduated from the 8th grade last week as one of two valedictorians and was actually the very last person to speak at their graduation ceremony. Her school calls those “top scholars” now, something I had never heard before.

  2. Congratulations on your nephew’s success. The family must be very proud. I did know the many meanings of salutation. I went to school in the “olden days” when we were taught how to write a letter and include all the correct parts. This was after we were taught penmanship (the Palmer method) which I hear is no longer being taught – at least not here in California.

  3. I don’t think I’ve ever inspired a WWW post before! In fact I’m pretty sure that I haven’t. Salutatorian is such a great word, although I don’t think I’ll ever get to use it here in Australia. We don’t even use valedictorian in Australia, but I’ve seen it on so many American tv shows and movies. Thanks for enlightening me though Joy.
