Armchair BEA — Introduction — 20 Comments

  1. Yes, April is a great resource! I’m trying to use Google+ more, too, especially because I don’t use Facebook for my blog. I keep visiting bloggers I already know today, and need to make an effort to check out some who are new to me, but had to stop by to say hi!

  2. Man, Quicksilver and I have a similar love/hate relationship. I keep TRYING to get through it. On paper, it is a book I should love. But I just haven’t been able to get all the way through yet!

I did love Code Name Verity as well, though. Man, that book was a heartbreaker.

  3. So nice to see another “book” blogger who isn’t just focused on books. I enjoy the variety for my own sanity and it sounds like you do, too.

  4. I’m not taking part in Armchair BEA this year because I’m packing to move next week to the University City area of St. Louis. I just looked up Kirkwood and see I’ll be about ten miles from your suburb. That’s exciting! Have fun, and I’ll be back to read more of your Armchair BEA reports this week.

  5. Loved learning more about you, Joy! I’ve had Neal Stephenson on my to-read list for a long time. His books are just so big, I’ve been finding it daunting to start them. I’ve tried a few times in audio, but I think it might be best to read him in print first.

  6. Lovely to see you doing this too Joy ๐Ÿ™‚

I’m a Julia Child fan too – which may be a little odd from someone living in Australia who has never seen any of her cooking shows…but I loved Julie & Julia (the movie not so much the book) and My Life in Paris was utterly charming from start to finish.

    Happy Armchair BEA

  7. Greetings from the other side of the state! I dated a boy from Kirkwood in college. I really enjoyed Code Name Verity also. I’d never heard of A Novel Challenge. Checking it out now.

  8. I need to finally read Code Name Verity – I hear so many good things about that book! I’m not that comfortable with G+ either, so I’m going to check out The Steadfast Reader!

Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier!

  9. Code Name Verity is on my list, and it just got bumped up- knowing it was a favorite of yours last year means it must be good!

Hope you have a blast with Armchair this year!

  10. Hi Joy! Funny how I’m running into so many librarians lately. That’s one of my dream jobs, as I love being surrounded by books! I’m still trying to get comfortable with Google+ too, so we’re in the same boat. ๐Ÿ™‚ Thanks for stopping by my blog earlier! Enjoy Armchair BEA!

  11. Just wanted to say I’ve been reading your blog and following you on Twitter for awhile, but haven’t had time to comment properly. Hope you are enjoying ABEA!
