Moon in the Garden #SaturdaySnapshots — 13 Comments

  1. Your moon photos turned out great! I’ve had little success with moon photos with my little point-and-shoot camera, but I keep trying. Now I’m going to click on the link to your post about those British foods.

  2. Boy, you really did capture that moon beautifully! I can never get a setting that allows enough light to bring the image into detail … what’s the secret? Tripod and … ?

    • My best photos were the ones where I stood very still. So tripod, or the best approximation that you can achieve with walls and benches. A fast shutter speed would probably make the moon nice and crisp, but there might be less detail in the foreground, so I don’t know if that would be as interesting as a slower shutter speed.

  3. I have had some success with moon shots but it takes a lot of practice and experimentation with shutter speeds. I use a digital SLR camera so I can customize a lot more than a point and shoot but most cameras have a shutter speed setting which helps. Try 1 second + exposure times and it should help and stay very still or better still use a tripod or other solid surface to rest the camera on. It takes some practice but its worth it when you get the shot you want.

  4. Very cool shots! My library assistant set her alarm for two in the morning and woke her family in order to see the special moon. Very cool.
