The Happiness Project Read Along — Wednesday Discussion, January 29 — 9 Comments

  1. Thanks for the reminder about the Personality Assessor. When I read it I was on a road trip back from Florida (riding, not driving :>) so I forgot, but I did want to do it. I love stuff like that.

Thanks so much for hosting this, it’s been a really great start to the year and I probably wouldn’t have picked this up on my own.

  2. I want to take the Personality Assessor test; will do and come back and compare notes! My post is just up–a bit late, sorry. I struggled with this one and ultimately went off in a rather personal way rather than answering the questions and/or summing up the book. A couple of things really struck me in chapters 11/12, so that’s where I “landed.” I want to establish some goals I might not otherwise have considered had I not read the book. Thanks again, Joy, for the challenge!

  3. I tried the personality test and came out low or low-medium on everything but agreeableness. (Middle-child syndrome?) I enjoyed this read-along so much! It doesn’t seem a whole year ago that we read The Power of Habit together! I may actually attempt a happiness project, but not as systematically or thematically as Gretchen did. I successfully lost some weight this fall by giving up candy and snacks cold turkey, so that success inspired me to make some small New Year’s resolutions (e.g. floss every night before bed, try to get ready for work a half-hour earlier than I had been starting to) and have been doing pretty well, so I know what you mean about not setting yourself up for failure with grandiose goals.
