Book Review: French Milk by Lucy Knisley — 15 Comments

  1. I enjoyed this book when I read it. If I remember correctly, it wasn’t too challenging but was a fun visit to Paris. And, I would love to travel with my mom. Thanks for playing along today.

  2. Interesting that you talk about mother/daughter travels today Joy as I just started planning a mother/daughter trip to Paris for next year (my mother went this year for the first time, and fell in love with Paris just like I have- we both want to go back). I read this book last year. I enjoyed it, but didn’t love it- I think there was too much memoir and too little Paris for me.

I liked the format though, and certainly wish I had her drawing abilities.

  3. I absolutely loved that book! I though Lucy’s behavior and reactions were very real. I am fortunate enough to have been insanely jealous of Lucy; my mom and I get along wonderfully and would have had a blast.

  4. I had forgotten about McCullough’s book about France. Thanks for the reminder. I also wish you luck on your armchair travels through France. I had remembered the title of French Milk from last week. Couldn’t remember which blog. Thanks for reminding me the post was on Intrepid Reader.
