Readers’ Workouts — August 20 — 5 Comments

  1. Last week I managed to get three days of strength training in before I got bored. I picked up again yesterday and I am reminding myself that it’s okay if I drop the ball so long as I keep picking it up again. And I’m probably going to drop the ball again and again until it all becomes a habit. Once it’s a habit, I won’t have any problem, until life comes along and knocks me off my routine. Then I’ll just do what I did yesterday: start over all over again.

  2. I’ve just signed up to do a duathlon in October (1 mile run, 12 mile bike ride, 3 mile run) so I’ve stepped up the intensity of my workouts even as I find myself not working out as many days per week. I signed up for a Pure Barre workout this morning and then chickened out when I saw the girls going in before me, but I have picked up a beginning level Pilates Reformer class every Sunday now, so that’s a start.

    • Great plans! Consistency works really well for me, but once in awhile I think it’s useful to have a reason to push the intensity for awhile instead. Keeps me from getting complacent.
