It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? — 12 Comments

  1. I really *should* join in the reader workouts…ugh…I have such a hard time being motivated! I need a kick in the pants 😉

Enjoy whatever book you decide to read next Joy!

  2. There is something about Funke’s writing style that I just can’t connect with. I want to love her, because her books always sound really good, but then I always end up disappointed… It’s sad!

    • I actually liked Ghost Knight better than I remember liking Inkheart. i was sure that Inkheart was going to be the beginning of a love affair with this author but it didn’t work out for me. I think, as much as anything, I was responding to the setting of Ghost Knight, a place I hope to visit next year.

  3. So glad you’re back–have to admit I was wondering why my mailbox didn’t contain more “Joy.” Really appreciate your sharing all the books you’re reading, as well as the challenges. Have a great week reading!

  4. “I’ll get to it.” That has become my approach to blogging recently and I’m learning to silence that little nagging voice that says I “should” be blogging. I “should” be doing what interests me, right? I still love my blog, but my little break has reminded me that there are other things I like to do as well! Enjoy your week!

  5. I’m reading “Gunshots in Another Room – the forgotten life of Dan J Marlowe” by Charles Kelly. If anyone wants to see what a self-published book should read like, please pick this one up. Kelly is a lifelong journalist and knows how to make facts read like fiction. A fabulous story and interesting character. I plan to do a review of this book for our local paper.
