Botanical Garden of the Ozarks — Saturday Snapshot
The Botanical Garden of the Ozarks on the outskirts of Fayetteville, Arkansas is small compared to what we’re used to (but not everyone gets to live twenty minutes from the world-class Missouri Botanical Garden). We liked the little themed gardens that were about the size of a typical yard. It’s easier to see how ideas might work in the scale of a backyard rather than a large public garden.
We thought this fountain was pretty.
This is the first time we’d seen a raised bed made from concrete blocks. I like the height and the top that functions as a bench while working in the bed.
I love the idea of a mosaic compass rose in the garden.

Wonderful shots…so creative! I would love to have that fountain in my yard…if I had a yard…lol
Here’s MY SATURDAY SNAPSHOT POST
The fountain IS pretty! I do love fountains of all sizes and shapes.
Very nice photos! I especially love the mosaic one!
I love that fountain! It looks so peaceful and relaxing.
Gorgeous fountain! I like the idea of how they did the raise planter box. I haven’t had a raised planter since our previous home, which was almost 10 years ago. I’d love to have one again.
I like your photography themes and choices of what to photograph-fences, corners, angles, bridges.
Very nice.
What a peaceful place! I’d love to spend some time there, listening to that fountain and de-stressing!
One of our well-known Australian gardening experts loves the raised garden bed design. I’ve always wanted to try one myself if I ever get a yard the right size 🙂
I love the fountain, and the way your photo shows those stones set in the side. My Snapshot is at http://goo.gl/qkrST
I agree, it’s much nicer to see the gardens in a size that you can relate to. After years of going to garden shows and looking at the exhibits I finally put a small water feature in my yard. But I like the one in your first photo better!
These pictures play right into the book I just started called The Roots of My Obsession. It’s essays by gardening writers about why they garden and it’s very interesting. I’m not much of a gardener myself but I do appreciate beautiful gardens and I found the book for my mother-in-law for Christmas so I thought I should read it first. 😉 She’s much more a gardener than I am.
I’ve read gift books before I gave them so many times…
These photos were lovely.
You’ve got a very nice blog here – nice design and interesting content. Always interested to see how other people do it!
