Readers’ Workouts — October 23 — 8 Comments

  1. I’m trying to get in a lot of miles walked by the end of the month, too. My original goal back in late August was to try to walk 75-100 miles per month, and so far I’m averaging around 40-50. Ugh…

  2. I’ve cut back to the two workouts I really enjoy — spin class on Wednesday and US Masters Swimming on Thursday. I’m not feeling too bad about skipping the other days. Mantra: do what you can handle right now. Add more later.

Once we get moved into our new house (next week), I plan to pick up walk/jogs in the new neighborhood in the a.m. Also looking to adopt an early-morning yoga/meditation practice. Just planning this new approach has me excited.

    • That sounds like a good way to do something during all the upheaval of a move and plan ahead for the new place. I love walks as a way to explore a new neighborhood and really start to feel at home.

  3. I’ve been doing pretty well with my goal to work out for at least 20 minutes every day, although I seem to always have one day a week where I don’t do anything. Sadly, my running hasn’t improved – I love it but always at the halfway point my legs are telling me, we’re stopping soon, aren’t we? I do keep going and they stay quiet during the last leg of the run, but still. My daughter tells me I need to just keep adding a little more distance every day. Probably because that shifts the halfway point so at least my legs will feel rebellious a little later in the run … 🙂

  4. Hi Joy and other fearless readers who workout!
I almost forgot to link up my fitness log this week. What a week this is turning out to be. I have had a lot of little things going on this week that are adding up to one long week and it has me draggggging. I woke up SO tired this morning and totally convinced it was Friday. Anyway, I clocked in with 352 minutes of workouts last week, which is decent for me. I had two rest days, but I seem to make up for it on the days I cycle. The weather was SO wonderful here last weekend, I went out on my bike both Saturday and Sunday. I could have ridden more to tell you the truth–the weather was that perfect for riding, but had other stuff going on.

Hope you all are having a great week!
