Readers’ Workouts — September 11
Welcome to Readers’ Workouts, the weekly event where book lovers share athletic pursuits. I love the accountability and camaraderie we get here. Join us!
We finally had rain, softening up the dirt under the weedy honeysuckle bushes. Much of my exercise in the last week went into yanking those things out of the ground. Satisfying work, that. I’m way ahead on my minutes for the month, but a bit behind on the 15 Wii or DVD workouts that I plan to do this month. My new Zumba Wii disc came in the mail, so I’ll get that out today and give it a try.
How is your exercise going? Answer in a post on your blog, then link it below. Feel free to borrow the Readers’ Workouts logo for your post. Or, simply share in the comments.
I like Zumba but I don’t think I do it very well at all!
That’s the beauty of doing it with the Wii — no one will be watching!
I am back in the exercise groove! Yesterday was an hour of karate group class (kicking and punching drills, some sparring techniques and general cardio) followed by an hour of sparring class that ended up as fight one, rest one, fight again. You wouldn’t think a 90 second fight would be that tiring but it is.
Yay! Glad you’re back at it. That sounds like a terrific workout.
I am loving this cooler weather! I need to definitely do some digging around in my yard, that is for sure. Those pesky weeds annoy me. I don’t know if you experience the same, but there are tons of spiders in Virginia and they are horribly persistent in spinning their webs all through the bushes. If we don’t keep up with them, it will look like Halloween all year long.
I kept breaking the web of a spider that wanted to build her web across my path. She was huge, so I was going to let her have her way, but I needed to get through!
I can’t wait to hear about all your groovy new moves when you break out Zumba on the Wii! π
I had a spectacular week of exercise last week! Joy already knows this, but after months of training I biked in the NJ Gran Fondo on Sunday. I biked 107.4 miles with over 9000 ft. of elevation gain on the course (that’s a lot of hills!), burning 4670 calories and all in just 8 hours 4 minutes and 25 seconds. (Not counting time spent at rest stops to use the bathroom, eat, fill up water bottles and stretch for a few minutes). I’m feeling pretty on top of the world right now. π
I had a few workouts throughout the week preceding this ride, so my total time spent exercising last week was 684 minutes!
I anticipate my exercise hours to return to more human levels now that the Fondo is behind me. Until next spring when training starts all over again, anyway. π
