Readers’ Workouts May 8
Welcome to this week’s Readers’ Workouts! Join us to report your progress of the last week and set goals for this week.
My week went well. I exercised 300 minutes of the 1400 I intend to complete in May and I’m on course with doing full-body DVDs every other day. Yay! Last month I was always behind so it’s great to be just about on track for a change.
How are you doing? Answer on your blog and use the Linky or answer in the comments.
I was pretty happy with myself as well, :).
You did great last week!
Well done. I have always wanted to do one of those fitness DVD workouts but I don’t have room to swing a cat in my house. I took up running a few months ago but I’d like to do a different form of exercise as well.
Thanks for participating! DVD workouts that emphasize strength training over dance often don’t take much more space than enough to do a push-up or crunches.
I’m trying to turn working out into “play” time with my family. I hope to add more former type of workouts soon.
Thanks for “playing” with us this week, Kim!
Great job on working out for 300 minutes this week. You’re nearly one third of the way to your goal!
Thanks! I hope things are going well for you, too.
I’m not doing that great. I haven’t been feeling well since my last Reader’s Workout post. Hopefully, once finals are out of the way I can get back to walking and biking.
Hope you’re feeling better soon. The stress of finals can be really tough to deal with.
Hi Joy and other ‘Readers Workout’ friends,
I hosted a similar ‘fitness challenge’ for readers of my blog last year, but what started out with several participants dwindled down to just two of us after a month or two. I didn’t continue it this year because aside from the one friend.. no one else seemed to care! lol! I hope you all stick with Joy’s weekly round-up posts. I think it helps a lot of people to have a group or community of fellow exercise enthusiasts to help motivate you and keep on track. I’m lucky to have established a group of friends over the last couple of years with whom I exercise regularly–running, cycling and working out at the gym. The social part adds extra motivation because I like being with my friends!
I keep a fitness log of sorts linked to my main blog. I keep track of what I did, how long, how many miles, that sort of thing. It helps me stay accountable to when I’ve taken days off and it’s a source of pride when I look back and see how much I’ve accomplished.
I exercised for 330 minutes last week from May 1 to May 7. You can see what I did to keep moving here: http://theromanticlifefitness.blogspot.com/ .
Silly question: Should I be reporting workouts from May 1 – May 7 or May 2 – May 8?
Whichever works best for you! I’m old enough to think of a week beginning on Sunday, so I’m still figuring out what I want to do with this Tuesday reporting mechanism!
Thanks, Joy! I think like you–a week starts with Sunday and ends on Saturday.. but for some reason I started keeping track of my workouts Monday-Sunday. I think because Monday is back to routine with school, work, etc…
I’m going to report my weeks as Monday-Sunday then. I suppose it doesn’t really matter as long as we are working out! 🙂
By the way, is there a way to subscribe to comments on a post on your blog? I couldn’t find it.
No, there isn’t a way to subscribe to comments — I’m putting it on my Bloggiesta list!
Okay! Thanks for letting me know. 🙂

I’m so excited to be back to working out this week, so I can participate in this meme next week! You all are so inspiring.
Yay! Looking forward to having you.
