Book Review: What to Eat by Marion Nestle — 7 Comments

  1. I read this book several years ago, and like you, I found that it was eminently readable. I liked her writing style, and I seem to remember agreeing with much of what she wrote.
I can never get enough of the food politics type books, so I am happy to see that she has a new one coming out in the spring.

  2. Joy, I thoroughly enjoyed your review of the book via your personal opinion that tied this to what’s happening today. I like following politics and I think I need to read a bit more about food politics. Thanks for your suggestions on that score.

  3. I’m with you on the campaign funding. Personally, I don’t believe it should be allowed from corporations at all but I know that is naive thinking. I’d also like definitive answers on what all these chemicals in food are doing to us but I know that is just wishful thinking.

  4. I too read this when it first came out and thought it was well written and easy to read. I’ll look forward to her next one. It really is difficult to lose weight

  5. Marion Nestle is on Twitter as @marionnestle, and she posts regularly on food policy news. I have been meaning to read Food Politics. Excellent post for Weekend Cooking, considering all the occupying going on all over the country!
