Final Update: 48 Hours Book Challenge
It was a fun 48 hours with lots of reading and a little on-line socializing. Here are my stats:
Reading: 18 and a half hours
Blogging: 1 hour and 15 minutes
Socializing: 1 hour and 15 minutes
I finished two books that I started before the 48 hours: Winning After Losing by Stacey Halprin and Best Kept Secret by Amy Hatvany. I started and finished four other books: Savvy Auntie by Melanie Notkin, The Little Women Letters by Gabrielle Donnelly, Simple Italian Sandwiches by Jennifer and Jason Denton, and The Phantom Tollbooth by Norton Juster. I have started drafting reviews of most of them and they will be appearing in the next couple of weeks. In short, I liked them all or I wouldn’t have bothered finishing them during this challenge.
That’s 6 books total, so I’ll be donating sixty dollars to the Joplin Schools Tornado Relief Fund (Joplin Schools – Tornado Info). Between my blog and Facebook, I got nearly 30 comments (thanks, everyone!) so I’ll round that up and add another five dollars to the happiest check I’ll write all month.
This was fun. Thanks to MotherReader for organizing the Sixth Annual 48 Hour Book Challenge.
Well done, Joy! Hope your household didn’t suffer too much! Here all is a little more messy than normally. But it was great fun!
Great job! Sounds like time well-spent!
The Phantom Tollbooth. Sigh. I think next year I might include rereading an old favorite or two in the last few hours, when I am getting weary. Great job!
Great Job, and I am sure the Joplin schools with be happy to receive your donation.
