Booking Through Thursday
Do you multi-task when you read? Do other things like stirring things on the stove, brushing your teeth, watching television, knitting, walking, et cetera?
Or is it just me, and you sit and do nothing but focus on what you’re reading?
(Or, if you do both, why, when, and which do you prefer?)
I read cookbooks and books on diet and nutrition while I eat. Even though all of the books on diet say don’t read or do anything else while eating. This is my own small rebellion that seems to increase my willingness to do all the other things that I have to do to make my eating work well for me.
How about you? Do you read while eating or doing other things? See today’s Booking Through Thursday post for more answers to this question.
Mostly, I like a quite place to read.
My mother would not tolerate reading at the diner table when I was younger so I find I can’t do it now even though she doesn’t care if I read while I eat.

I’ve been a multitasker since I learned to read: http://mostraum.wordpress.com/2011/03/10/booking-through-thursday-multitasking/
I read at the table if I’m eating alone. I grew up in a house with 5 kids and all the friends that come with 5 kids so I’ve learned to read with noise. Because of that I tend to read with the tv or radio on quite a bit. I would love to be able to read on the treadmill but I can’t ever make it work.
i’ve loved eating when i eat.
When i was five, I had these book and tape kits. My favorite one was Snow White. And my favorite thing to do while listening and reading it was to savor a deep red, crispy-crispy apple.
crack! my teeth would sink in, and relish the innocent juices dribbling down my throat, as I listened to/read about the poisoned one being doctored up by the evil queen.
since then, I’ve been hooked.
